Chopta Tungnath Tour

Chopta–Tungnath Trip is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting experiences in Uttarakhand, offering a perfect blend of nature, devotion, and mountain serenity. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world, and a part of the revered Panch Kedar. The trek begins from Chopta, often called the “Mini Switzerland of India,” known for its lush meadows and panoramic Himalayan views.

This short yet rewarding journey takes you through dense rhododendron and deodar forests, across peaceful trails, and into the heart of the mountains. The moderate trek from Chopta to Tungnath (3.5 km) is suitable for all age groups and offers stunning vistas of Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, and Trishul peaks. For those who wish to go further, an additional 1.5 km climb leads to Chandrashila Peak, offering a 360-degree view of the Himalayas.

Beyond the natural beauty, the spiritual ambiance of Tungnath instills peace and devotion. The ancient temple, believed to have been built by the Pandavas, is steeped in mythological significance and offers a deep connection to Lord Shiva.

Evenings in Chopta, under starlit skies with the crisp mountain breeze, bring a sense of calm and reflection. Whether you’re a trekker, a pilgrim, or a nature lover, the Chopta–Tungnath Trip offers a soul-refreshing experience.
